AVICOVIT

TARGET SPECIES: Chickens and turkeys.

Amoxicilina 250ml

INDICATION: The product is recommended for chickens and turkeys for the treatment and metaphylaxis of enteric infections caused by non-invasive E. coli bacteria susceptible to colistin. Before starting the metaphylactic treatment the presence of the disease in the herd must be confirmed.

COMPOSITION:
100 ml of product contain:
Active substance
Colistin sulfate .............................…..............….2,5 mil. U.I.
Vitamin A palmitate ..........................................1,0 mil. U.I.
Vitamin D3 .........................................................0,1 mil. U.I.
Vitamin E ..................................................................400 U.I.
Vitamin B1 ................................................................250 mg
Vitamin B6 ................................................................250 mg
Excipients
Methyl parahydroxybenzoate ..............................100 mg
Propyl parahydroxybenzoate ..................................20 mg

CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Do not use in horses, especially in foals, because colistin alters the balance of the gastrointestinal tract microflora and could lead to development of colitis associated with antimicrobials administration (colitis X), usually associated with Clostridium difficile, which can be lethal.

ADVERSE REACTIONS:

They were not reported.

ADMINISTRATION:
The product is administered in the drinking water, in a dose of 10 ml/liter of water, for three consecutive days.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR PROPER ADMINISTRATION:
The intake of medicated water depends on the clinical condition of the birds. In order to obtain the recommended dose, the product concentration should
be adjusted correctly. The duration of treatment should be limited to the minimum time necessary to treat the disease. The duration of treatment should not exceed 7 days.

OVERDOSE:
Colistin sulphate should not be overdosed as it may cause nephrotoxicity. The recommended dose should be observed.

SPECIAL WARNINGS FOR EACH TARGET SPECIES:
Colistin has a concentration-dependent action against Gram-negative bacteria. Following oral administration, high concentrations are obtained
in the gastrointestinal tract, i.e. the target site, due to the insufficient absorption of the substance.
These factors indicate that a longer treatment than indicated, leading to unnecessary exposure, is not recommended.

USE DURING THE GESTATION, LACTATION OR LAYING PERIOD:
It may be administered during the laying period.

INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER MEDICINAL PRODUCTS OR OTHER FORMS OF INTERACTION:
The co-administration of other veterinary medicinal products containing bivalent metal ions (e.g. calcium or magnesium salts) should be avoided. The action of colistin on the germs of Pseudomonas spp. is amplified in the presence of sulfamethizole, sulfamethoxazole and sulfacetamide. Thiamine hydrochloride forms precipitates with iodine, tannic acid and ammoniacal ferric citrate; it is incompatible with alkaline solutions (sodium bicarbonate, sodium citrate), with sugar solutions (glucose, lactose), with alcohol and gelatin. Pyridoxine hydrochloride is incompatible with alkaline substances; for a pH above 5.0, the solution intensifies its color. It is inactivated by oxidants.

WITHDRAWAL PERIOD:
Meat and offal: zero days
Eggs: zero days
