TARGET SPECIES: Horses, cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, dogs and cats.

Amoxicilina 250ml

INDICATIONS: VETASED is recommended for short-term anesthesia, for clinical examinations in stubborn animals and for Röentgen diagnosis. For the potentiation of analgesia and narcosis in combined anesthesia, it is used in surgeries (ovariectomy, castration, caesarean section, eye or ear surgery, tooth extraction), the prevention of restraint and transport stress.

COMPOSITION:
1 ml of solution for injection contains:
Active substance:
Ketamine (as hydrochloride)………………………………100 mg
Excipients:
Benzalkonium hydrochloride………………………………0.11 mg
Water for injections.
 

CONTRAINDICATIONS
Avoid administering the product to animals with glaucoma, decompensated heart diseases, serious yeanlingney or liver failure and high blood pressure.
Do not administer it in case of hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the excipients.

ADVERSE REACTIONS
Rarely, respiratory disorders, hypertension, seizures, muscle tremor, vomiting, especially after rapid intravenous injection of the product, may occur.

METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION
VETASED is administered intramuscularly or intravenously depending on the species and body weight.
After injection, the effect sets in quickly, within 30–60 seconds (i.v. administration) or 3–5 minutes (after i.m. administration).
The duration of anesthesia is approximately 15-30 minutes, with full awakening taking place within 30-60 minutes. The prolongation of the anesthesia is done by repeating the dose.
For the prevention of hypersalivation, premedication with atropine is recommended. For horses, dogs and cats the premedication is mandatory.
Also, in horses, dogs and cats, premedication is done with xylazine because it reduces the adverse effects of ketamine, which consist of an excited state. After 10 minutes of xylazine administration, ketamine may be injected. Premedication can also be done with SEDAM (acepromazine) in appropriate doses.

The recommended doses for ketamine are the following:

The recommended doses for combined anesthesia are the following:
Horses:
- 0.5 mg of xylazine/kg body weight intramuscularly
- 0.004 - 0.01 mg of atropine/kg body weight intramuscularly
Dogs:
- 1 - 2 mg of xylazine/kg body weight intramuscularly or subcutaneously
- 0.05 - 0.1 mg of atropine/kg body weight intramuscularly
Cats:
- 0.5 mg of xylazine/kg body weight subcutaneously
- 0.1 mg of atropine/kg body weight intramuscularly

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR PROPER ADMINISTRATION
Administrarea intravenoasă trebuie efectuată lent. Animalele vor fi protejate de zgomote şi lumină puternică până la trezirea completă. Pentru a evita uscarea excesivă a corneei se recomandă ca după administrarea produsului aceasta să fie umectată cu ser fiziologic.

Keep out of the reach of children. Store at room temperature (15- 25°C). Keep away from direct sunlight. Do not use after the expiration date stated on the bottle. Shelf life after first opening the primary packaging: 28 days.
