SPECIAL WARNINGS:
Certain precautionary measures must be taken in order to avoid the following practices, which can lead to an increased risk of developing resistance, leading to an inefficiency of the treatment:
- The frequent and repeated use of anthelmintic from the same category for an extended period of time;
- The under-dosage, which may be due to an underestimation of the body weight, to the incorrect administration of the product or to the non-calibration of the dosage device (if any).
All clinical cases suspected of resistance to anthelmintic should be further investigated using the appropriate tests (e.g., the fecal egg count tests). Where the tests clearly suggest resistance to a certain anthelmintic, another will be used belonging to another pharmacological class whose mode of action is diffe.
